the moon never shines as bright as it does in a desert night sky

 

My name is Jemma, and I've spent over 10 years in the wedding industry as a photographer before getting engaged myself in 2019. From living in rural area it was over 5 hours to drive to my nearest bridal shop to find a wedding dress. I looked online but any websites that had dresses within my budget where all international and either the shipping costs or the unknown quality concerned me. I wanted to find something unique and with sleeves and this proved almost impossible.
 

So I started researching a way to have a dress custom made from a design I had in my head, and from that journey Desert Moon Bridal was born. Over 12 months of lace samples, trialling styles and designs, chatting to seamstresses and researching our first dress - Luna - was created and I wore this dress for a bridal shoot with my husband on our honeymoon.

Now I hope to share these designs with other brides in the same position as me, looking for their dream dress without accesses perhaps to bridal shops or unable to find something unique in the options on offer at their local shop.

As a photographer, some of my favourite weddings where the ones when the bridal party really showed their personal style in their outfit choices, and this has carried into my brand. I love unique fabrics and patterns and adding pops of colour into designs you might not often see in a bridal space. I truly feel passionate about bride's being able to choose dresses they love, not because of tradition, but as an extension of their own personal taste and aesthetics.
